Evidence first. Scores second. AI last.
Grant Intel reads funding listings from public sources, keeps the original, turns it into a structured record, and only then checks it against you. Here is exactly how.
From a funder's listing to your radar
- Collect
Each source is fetched on a schedule. The raw listing is stored unchanged, so every claim can be traced back.
- Structure
Deadlines, amounts, who can apply and where are read from the text only when the text states them, each with the sentence that says so.
- Check
Duplicates across sources are merged; incomplete records go to our data team before publication; changes create a new version and alert people who saved them.
- Match
Your profile is checked rule by rule. Unknowns stay unknown and are shown to you.
The scores
Eligibility
Five possible results: Eligible, Eligible if conditions met (for example, partners required), Unclear (the listing doesn't say), Conflicting, or Not eligible. A rule read loosely from free text can make a result unclear, but never “not eligible” — only clearly stated rules can rule you out.
Funding Fit (0–100)
A weighted combination, with the weights published here (method fit-v1). An ineligible opportunity is capped at 15 whatever else it scores.
| Component | Weight |
|---|---|
| Eligibility | 25% |
| Research / mission alignment | 20% |
| Geographic alignment | 15% |
| Applicant type | 10% |
| Funding type | 5% |
| Timing | 10% |
| Capability | 5% |
| Funder's observed giving | 10% |
Africa Accessibility (0–100)
How open a call is to African applicants: country eligibility (30), whether you can lead directly (20), no high-income partner required (15), the funder's recorded awards in Africa (15), registration barriers such as SAM.gov (10) and application language (10). It describes access, not quality: an African-only call is not a lesser call. The same method gives a Global South score using World Bank income groups.
Time you have
Days left compared with typical preparation time for that kind of funding, plus time for partners and institutional approval. An estimate to help you decide.
AI review
Proposal review maps your text against the call and standard criteria. Every quoted passage is checked against your own text and removed if it isn't there. AI never submits, approves or changes eligibility, and it reads only documents you allow.
Coverage
We don't claim to list every grant in the world. We publish what we can trace and verify, and we grow coverage continuously. Always confirm details on the funder's own page before applying.
